Transcatheter aortic valve replacement

In the opinion of CVZ, TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation) is care that complies with established medical science and medical practice for insured persons with severe AS and for whom the surgical risks are unacceptably high. TAVI belongs in the insured basic package for these insured persons. In CVZ’s opinion, TAVI does not comply with established medical science and medical practice for insured persons with severe AS who do have an increased – though acceptable – surgical risk. TAVI is not included in the insured basic package for this group of insured persons.
